Sentiero del Sole from Limone sul Garda and back

Start at the small fishing port of Limone with its traditional fishing boats, near the Lake Garda ferry landing stage.

(S/E) Walk along the lake through the town.

(1) Turn right, continue along the lake and then take the (steep) stairs through the gate (see note in practical information).

(2) The path winds its way between private properties and hotels.

(3) The path joins the road and the cycle path. Continue along the path.

(4) The track becomes a suspended cycle and footpath. Continue to the end of the track

(5) Return via the same route in the opposite direction (S/E).

As Limone is a tourist attraction on Lake Garda, the footpath and cycle path are heavily used by both pedestrians and cyclists, so please take care. Best done on a clear day to see the mountains and Monte Baldo; on a very clear day, you might even catch a glimpse of Sirmione. Limone is easily accessible by car (car park with over 500 spaces at the town entrance), by public transport (bus and train) and by boat (Lake Garda ferry).

At (1), to avoid the steep steps, turn left. You rejoin the route at (2).
