Park in the car park by the lake.
(S/E) Go down Rue de l'Étang, turn left onto Montée du Plantin and continue for about 300 metres. Leave Château du Plantin on your left and continue straight on after the château to reach the orientation table.
(1) Walk about 50 metres, then turn left and follow the path for 1.5 km. You will arrive at the Croix du Mont Verdun crossroads.
(2) Continue along the path opposite, ignoring the paths to the right and left, until you reach the tarmac road of Mont Py.
(3) Take it straight ahead, walk along the quarry and military grounds for 450 metres until you reach the entrance gate to the military base. Take the path on the right, ignore the first path on the right, then turn right onto the Pierre Marion path and walk to the Pavillon houses.
(4) Turn right and follow the tarmac Pavillon path for 400 metres. At the intersection, take the Carée path on the left to reach the Tour Risler crossroads.
(5) Turn left onto Chemin de la Croix Rampau and continue to the Y-junction.
(6) Turn right onto Chemin des Places, pass the old windmill and take the path on the left to see the view from Croix Rampau.
(7) Retrace your steps to Chemin de la Croix Rampau, at the Y-junction.
(6) Turn right and continue straight on to the Cendre wash house.
(8) Return to the wash house crossroads and turn right onto Chemin de Chasselay. Keep right at the next two junctions, then turn right to reach the Saint-Antoine Hermitage.
(9) Continue along the path and turn right. At the crossroads of paths at elevation 403, turn right and you will soon come to another crossroads. Turn onto the path on the left and follow it to the crossroads of Chemin de la Collonge.
(10) Leave the wide path opposite and take the path on the left. Then turn right to rejoin the Poleymieux path. Follow it to Rue de Génévréant, turn right and continue to Rue des Darbonnières. Turn left, then at the next crossroads, turn right to join Rue de l'Étang. Turn right onto this street to return to the car park (S/E).
We want to do this trail again with our children so they can learn from the geological information provided along the way, and we plan to have a picnic at the top of the Croix.
