Tremblay Trail

The route starts from the Place de l’Église. There are a few parking spaces available on this square or at the picnic area at the western entrance to the village.

(S/E) Opposite the restaurant, take the street on the right. At the war memorial, turn left and take the dirt track.

(1) Turn right onto the wide track. Reach and cross the road. Continue uphill along this track until you reach a small path.

(2) Turn right and, 100 metres further on, head down the track on the left. Ignore the paths on the right, as they often lead only to a field.

(3) When you reach another small road, turn left and follow it for about 700 metres, ignoring the service road in the large bend on the right.

(4) Turn right onto this track, which runs through the middle of the fields. When you reach the cross-track, turn right and carry on, again ignoring the entrances to fields or woods on either side. This track follows the route of the old, disused Tacot railway line. Pass a sunken track on your right, near a small guard’s cottage. You’ll reach the entrance to the hamlet of Les Merles.

(5) Turn right (do not cross the bridge on the left) and continue along this small road. At the next junction, turn left and you’ll come out onto the D1. Cross carefully, head down to the left for 80 metres and turn right towards the hamlet of Les Bergeries. Carry straight on, ignoring the small tracks leading to the houses and farms.

(6) Just as the road bends at a 90° angle, take the stony track opposite. Continue down this main track, ignoring all the tracks on both the right and left.

(7) At the junction with the D3 road, turn left towards the obelisk. At this monument, take the grassy path on the left, pass by the recumbent statues and continue straight down. At the end of this path, the route into the village of Fontenoy ends on the street on the left (S/E).

Good walking shoes are recommended for this walk. As some sections are exposed to direct sunlight, please ensure you bring sunglasses and a hat.
This route is suitable for Nordic walking, and can be done by mountain bike or hybrid bike in the opposite direction.

This walk is organised bythe Puisaye-Forterre Tourist Office.
The route is signposted by the association ‘À chacun son chemin en Puisaye-Forterre’ in accordance with the graphic guidelines of the Puisaye-Forterre Community of Communes, following the direction of the description, and is marked No. 15.
However, as the route is signposted, you must set off with at least this description and the accompanying IGN map or the Visorando app.
