Heron Trail from Palleau

The start of this circular route is at the car park of the Palleau community hall (next to the town hall).

(S/E) Turn left onto the D171.Continue straight on for 400 metres until you reach the junction at Le Port.

(1) Turn left, then after 100 metres, turn right (after the recycling bins). Continue straight on for 350 metres.

(2) At the 179-metre mark, continue straight on. Follow the Meuzin (a small river on your right), then the path naturally turns left.

(3) At a place called Prancia, take the stony track on the left. You’ll come to the Bouzaise (a small river on your right again). The path then takes you back to the junction from the outward journey.

(2) Return to the car park on the right by following the path in the opposite direction to the outward journey (S/E).

Signposting: follow the signs (PA1) and the yellow markings (short hike trail).

Safety instructions: be well equipped (rucksack, first-aid kit, suitable clothing, good footwear, etc.). Bring a bottle of water and protect yourself from the sun. Take a mobile phone with you. Do not leave any litter in the countryside. Be careful when crossing roads. Do not stray from the marked trails. Stay clear of forestry work. Respect private property and the regulations in force. Be careful during the hunting season (September to February).
