Lombers Dovecote Interpretation Trail

Park on the Place de la Mairie. The trail is marked in yellow.

(S/E) Facing the information board at the start of the trail, turn right, then before the town hall, turn left and continue to the right until you reach the first dovecote (information panel no. 1).

(1) Follow the same route back to the corner of the square, then turn left and finally take the second right. Go up the hill, keeping to the left.

(2) At the top, turn left between the two fields to reach the D4.

(3) Turn right, then right again towards Goutines before taking the path that climbs to the left (information boards no. 2 and no. 3 on the climb). Continue straight ahead until you are back on the D4.

(4) Turn right until you reach the junction with the D23.

(5) Continue on the right towards Poulan, then immediately turn left with caution to go around the Church of Saint-Sernin before descending further to the right on the road (interpretive sign no. 4 at the place called Saint-Sernin).

(6) Continue straight ahead on the D23 to reach Saint-Pierre-de-Conils, passing Saint-Sernin de Lombers and keeping to the right at the fork.

(7) At the crossroads, continue left on the D27 before turning right further on to go around the cemetery, see the dovecote (information panel no. 5) and pass in front of the church before retracing your steps to the crossroads.

(7) Then turn left (information panel no. 6). Turn left onto the D96 and you will reach a Y-junction.

(8) Leave this road and continue along the path downhill to the right towards Médalle (information panel no. 7). You will come to a fork.

(9) At the crossroads, ignore the two roads on the left and continue straight ahead towards Médale (information board no. 8). Keep to the left until you reach the hamlet.

(10) Cross the hamlet, keeping straight ahead. Leave the fork towards Bonafous and continue to a house.

(11) Turn right towards Rieugrand. Continue straight ahead towards Ambrozy.

(12) Cross the hamlet, following the road opposite (passing in front of the mill) and continue to the end of the road and the greenway.

(13) Take the greenway (former railway line connecting Albi to Castres) on the right. Continue straight ahead for four crossroads and arrive at the fifth.

(14) Leave the greenway and turn right towards the place called "Les Plégats" (information board no. 9). Pass the hamlet to reach a fork in the road.

(15) Turn right onto the road and continue straight ahead to return to the village of Lombers. At the end, keep right to return to the starting point (S/E).

There are toilets and a water point at the starting point (to the right of the town hall).
