Bras Cabot botanical trail: arum circular

If you have between half an hour and 45 minutes to spend in the magnificent Bébour Forest, especially with children, here is a very pretty walk that starts in undergrowth filled with arums (ideal in hot, humid weather) and continues in an enchanted forest atmosphere with lichen, twisted trees, etc. Absolutely no difficulty walking.

Description of the walk

The starting point for this hike is on Route Forestière n°2 in Bebour-Belouve. Coming from La Plaine des Palmistes, you must pass Col de Bébour and descend for about 2 km, keeping to the right. 500 m after the Piton de Bébour trail car park, you will find a car park on the right-hand side of a bend, which serves this walk as well as the Bassin des Hirondelles and Cassé de Takamoka trails.

(S/E) The start of the botanical trail is marked with a sign on a wooden post. Please note: do not take the Bassin des Hirondelles trail. Walk for about 100 metres.

(1) Leave the return trail on your left and continue straight ahead. The first part of the trail is surrounded by many arum lilies.

(2) Turn left onto the path. The rest of the loop features many ferns, lichens and a wide variety of plants: it's a shame that this botanical trail is not signposted. Although you are completely immersed in nature, it is impossible to get lost. Simply follow the path, which makes a circular loop to the left and returns to the fork at the start.

(1) Continue to the right to return to the car park (S/E).
