A hike to be enjoyed in spring, autumn and winter, but not recommended in summer due to the heat.

A hike starting from a beautiful medieval village in the Drôme Provençale. The climb up to the ridges of the Montagne des Vaux is quite steep. The exceptional views of La Lance, La Miélandre, Le Cougoir, L'Angèle and Le Ventoux reward your efforts. Discover the surprising trail with marl (ancient sea bed) on the way back around Courbiou. The vegetation is varied: oak trees, pine trees, lavender. You will cross a few streams and even the river if there is not too much water.

A very long, challenging circular route around the Montagne de la Lance, easily recognisable by its long, curved shape.
A 360° panoramic view from its summit at over 1,300 metres. To the west, a view over the Rhône valley (Tricastin, Donzère wind turbines); to the east, a wilder, more mountainous landscape featuring the Southern Pre-Alps, notably the Montagne d’Angèle and Mont Cougard; also the Diois region with the Trois Becs to the north; and finally, Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles de Montmirail to the south.

You will ride through broom and goats, if they are out, and can stop at Col Flachet to enjoy the view, as it will be too late afterwards, as the descent is through oak trees.
