Park in the first car park located just after the Sainte-Baume hotel, heading east.
(S/E) Take the well-marked path (GR®9) that climbs towards the Grotte Sainte-Marie Madeleine. As you enter the forest, enjoy the splendour of its tall trees as you climb.
(1) After 800 m, leave theGR®9and turn left onto a well-marked path.
(2) Turn right and climb for 150 metres.
(3) Turn left at this point and begin a descent of about 500 m, ignoring several paths that branch off to the left.
(4) Head back up to the right at this point, which is the start of the Sentier Merveilleux (Wonderful Path), where you will enjoy beautiful, wild shade throughout your walk, with the occasional chance encounter (deer, foxes, etc.).
(5) After about 3,500 metres, you will come to a track where you will turn almost completely around by going completely to the left. Continue for about 300 metres until you reach a crossroads.
(6) Descend along a path that heads east.
(7) After 500 m of descent, turn left and head west. This is the start of the long return to the car park.
(8) At this point, a no-entry sign forces you to take a path on the left. You then come back onto a track and continue westwards.
(9) This track on the right takes you back to the first car park.
(10) Continue straight ahead, taking either of the paths that appear before you.
After 500 m, you will return to your car at (S/E).
