The entire hike follows theGR®21and one of its variants, so you can't get lost. Just follow the red and white markings.
(S/E) The hike starts in front of the church in Saint-Pierre-en-Port, Rue de la Plage, where you can park. Leave the church on your left and take Rue de la Plage, cross Rue de l'Église, continue straight ahead and turn left into Rue du Clos.
(1) At the end of this street, turn right onto Rue de l'Harmonie and follow this street to the end until you reach the water tower. Leave the water tower on your left, leave the road and continue straight ahead, taking a wide grassy path that runs alongside two houses.
(2) At the end of this 400-metre grassy path, turn left towards the trees. Follow this path, which turns right, downhill to the water treatment plant.
(3) Turn right onto the road that climbs uphill. Follow this road for 450 metres and leave it at the first right-hand bend to continue straight ahead on a wide grassy path for 1,600 metres.
(4) At the end of this path, turn left to enter Sassetot-le-Mauconduit. Climb gently up the Côte des Roulettes. At the fork, take Rue André Fiquet on the right. At the end of this street, cross the D5A and take Rue des Écoles opposite, which leads to Rue Elisabeth d'Autriche.
(5) Cross the large grassy area opposite and head towards the picnic tables. As you pass, admire the bust of Sissi along the D5A, which is aligned with the Château de Sassetot-le-Mauconduit. From the picnic tables, head north and follow the D5 or "Côte des petites dalles" which passes in front of the Château de Sassetot-le-Mauconduit and turns left. Follow this road along the path that overlooks it on the right.
When the D5 turns right, cross the road and continue straight ahead on the Route des Vingt Quatre Marches.
(6) After 150 metres, turn right onto Chemin du Bois, following the sign forGR®21. This path is paved for 400 metres, then becomes grassy for 350 metres before reaching the trees.
(7) Here, the path, which is still quite wide, turns left and continues under cover for 1,500 metres, then in the open for 250 metres.
(8) When you reach Chemin du Moustier, follow this path for 200 metres. Leave the Sente des Douaniers on your right, which descends towards Les Petites Dalles, and follow the path opposite, which turns left and climbs the steep slope that takes you to the top of the cliffs on the Sentier des Douaniers.
(9) Follow this path along the cliffs, which takes you down to the Grandes Dalles and leads to the Route des Péqueux (D479) opposite a fountain marked "Eau non potable" (water not drinkable). Turn left onto the D479 and, 20 metres further on, turn right onto Chemin Bellevue to climb up the other side. The slope is steep but there are two landings where you can admire the view.
(10) At the top, follow the path southwards. It descends into a grove, then turn right at a right angle towards the west. This grassy path leads to a stony path. Turn left towards the houses, then 20 metres further on, turn right towards the west onto a new grassy path.
The path runs alongside two huts on the right with bird calls and, sometimes, real ducks. Continue along this dirt track, which goes straight ahead, then turn left into Rue du Camping. The path runs alongside a picnic area on the right, which offers a view of the chalk cliffs and the sea.
(11) Immediately after the picnic area, turn right onto Chemin des Falaises, which turns left to return inland and passes near a pylon (telephone relay). At the end of Chemin des Falaises, turn right, then immediately left (almost opposite) to go back up to Rue de la Plage, our starting point (S/E).
