The walk starts from the car park behind the church in the village of peatland-et-Goudoulet.
(S/E). Head down towards the town hall, cross the D289 and take the path on the right at the signpost below the inn (GR®7). Cross the bridge over the Padelle and after about 30 metres, take the steep path on the right into the beech forest. Reach the road leading to the peatland.
(1) Turn left and pass in front of La Combette, then reach the crossroads of the road leading to La Bataille farm.
(2) Turn right towards the farm, then quickly turn left onto the path under the power line. You will come to a tarmac road.
(3) Cross it and continue straight ahead along the grassy path. Cross another road and continue straight ahead along the grassy path. Reach and wade across the Padelle (difficult if there is a lot of water). Climb up to the Croix du Panlon, the junction with the D289.
(4) Cross it and take the grassy path opposite towards the woods. Continue until you reach a fir tree plantation. Here you will find theGR®73, turn right towards Rieutord. You will reach a major intersection.
(5) Turn left towards Pereyres, leaving theGR®73straight ahead. Cross a beautiful undergrowth and goat path, and you will reach another crossroads shortly after leaving the undergrowth.
(6) Take the unmarked path on the left and join theGRP® du Tour de la Montagne Ardéchoise at the crossroads at an altitude of 1265 metres. Turn left onto thisGRP® marked in red and yellow. Continue northwards almost horizontally to reach the hamlet of La Nouvaille.
(7) At the first house in the village, take the path on the right and cross the footbridge over the stream. Climb up towards the road. At the road, turn left towards the village and return to the starting point (S/E).
