Start: Losheim Reservoir car park (paid parking)
(S/E) We first walk a short distance along the road past the car parks and then turn left towards the lake. We reach a meadow right by the lake and follow the path to the right. There are also public toilets here. We continue along this path and reach the official reservoir circular walk.
(1) We follow this path to the left. We pass the Seegarten Bistro, and the Seegarten is on the left-hand side.
(2) Soon, the Saar-Hunsrück-Steig runs parallel to our right, and we briefly leave the reservoir circular path to follow it along a narrow track. After just a few metres, we rejoin the reservoir circular path and continue along it.
(3) Then another path branches off to the left and we once again follow the signs for the Saar-Hunsrück-Steig along a path running directly alongside the lake. However, it can be a bit damp and muddy in places here; anyone who’d prefer to keep their shoes clean and their feet dry would be better off staying on the reservoir circular path.
(4) After a while walking right alongside the lake, we rejoin the Stauseerundweg and follow it to the left. We cross the Losheimer Bach and continue along the circular walk on the other side of the lake. This section of the circular walk runs right next to the shore, so we have fantastic views of the lake.
(S/E) We continue straight on and eventually reach the car park by the reservoir again.
