Park in the Bas-Rupts cross-country skiing centre car park. To do this, continue along the small tarmac road Chemin des Hauts Rupts. At the intersection, leave the Route Forestière des Hautes Vannes on your right and continue on the left to park about 1 km further on, on the right, on the long verges provided for parking, just before the ski/snowshoe pass chalet.
(S/E) Go through the barrier and past the toll hut for cross-country skiing/snowshoeing, continue straight ahead on the wide path, marked with a red disc and green rectangle, and you will reach a Y-junction.
(1) Turn right, following the previous markings, to reach the Croix Claudé crossroads.
(2) Turn left, still following the markings.
(3) Turn left. As you leave the Gérômoise forest for the Bressaud pastures, admire the view of the Bresse valley and enjoy the beautiful panorama of part of the Vosges ridges. Pass close to the Roche des Bioquets promontory (bench and picnic area).
(4) Continue along the Red Triangle marked trail to reach Chaume Grouvelin and the inn of the same name.
(5) At the foot of the ski lift, turn right onto the Green-White-Green Rectangle marked trail and climb between the fir trees to reach the Tête de Grouvelin orientation table. From there, admire the Ballons, which form part of the famous Blue Line of the Vosges.
(6) Return in the opposite direction to the previous crossroads.
(5) Pass in front of the terrace of the Auberge de Grouvelin and descend to the right towards Les Hautes Vannes via the Green-White-Green Rectangle marked trail. Return to the initial crossroads you passed on the way there.
(1) Take the path opposite, which is the reverse of the outward route, to return to the car park on the Route forestière des Hautes Vannes (S/E).
