Coming from Brioude and before crossing the Allier, cross the D588 opposite the café. The car park is located next to the canoe centre.
The route starts on the left bank of the Allier and to the left of the D588.
(S/E) From the car park: head towards the Allier and take the path on the left that runs alongside the river. Follow it, ignoring all the paths to the left and right, until you reach Étang Robert.
(1) Continue along the right-hand side of the pond. At the next fork, carry straight on.
Alternative route: you can follow the path along the bank of the pond and return via the same route.
(2) At the three-way junction, turn left towards the village of Cohade, ignoring all paths to the left and right.
At the crossroads before the village, turn left towards the village
(3) Turn right, heading north-west, ignoring two streets on the left, and turn left into Rue du Stade. Continue to the crossroads after the town hall
(4) Turn left into Rue des Forges, then continue along Rue du Deme on the right.
(3) Head south-east and ignore a path on the left at an altitude of 411m.
(5) At the crossroads, leave the village of Crispiat on your right and go straight on. Ignore a path on the right and one on the left.
(6) At the fork, turn left and head straight on towards the farm situated beside the N102 just before the roundabout, ignoring the paths on the right and left.
(7) Continue to follow the dirt track to the left, then left again, taking the path that runs behind the house, and head for the car park (S/E) .
A gentle walk for those who prefer to avoid steep climbs; I recommend this interesting walk along the banks of the Allier
