The route starts from the village of Allevier, in front of the chapel dedicated to Sainte-Bonnette. Vehicles can be parked in the square in front of the chapel and the drinking trough. The route does not follow the existing markings.
(S/E) From the car park, head east, walking alongside the chapel, until you reach a fork in the road.
(1) Turn left and you will arrive at the entrance to the village of Chadriat.
(2) Turn right and continue to La Bastille.
(3) Turn left, cross the Ruisseau de la Bastide stream, and climb towards Chamalière.
(4) Continue left and join the D181.
(5) Follow it carefully to the left, then leave it for thefirst path on the left. Follow this path through the woods and come out onto a road to follow to the right until you reach a hairpin bend.
(6) Turn left, cross the Ruisseau de la Bastide stream again, and continue to the entrance to Allevier.
(7) Turn right, then left, and continue straight ahead to the car park in front of the Sainte-Bonnette Chapel (S/E).
Our group of hiking friends enjoyed this route, discovering the village on a beautiful sunny morning with lovely trails. Some of them don't usually walk long distances, but they loved this hike. Thank you!
