(S/E) Take the road that climbs to the Sainte-Croix de Thorrent Chapel (889m). Continue along the road, which turns into a track.
(1) At the Thorrent Castle crossroads, turn right onto the path that runs alongside the stream (red and yellow markings), then leave the canal to descend and finally stay on the hillside to rejoin the D27 road.
(2) Go up along the road on the left for about 300m, to the Col de Fins (897m).
(3) Take the track that climbs to the left towards the south-west, towards "Les Costes", and keep left at the fork that follows immediately.
(4) At the "Les Costes" junction (1021m), leave the track and take the path that descends first south then south-west.
(5) Cross the Aytua River, join a track and continue to follow the yellow and red markings. Pass a turn-off on the right, take a sharp left turn at the first junction and keep left at the next junction. Continue to the plateau at an altitude of 1031m.
(6) At the plateau, leave the "GRP® tour des réserves" trail and turn left, heading south-southeast, onto the marked (yellow) path that winds its way up to the Maison Forestière de Founguéré.
(7) At the junction at an altitude of 1,350 metres, make a return trip to the Founguéré Forest House. To do this, continue along the path on the right which winds upwards. You will reach the forest house (altitude 1,525 metres) in 20 minutes.
(8) Descend by the same path to the previous junction.
(7) Turn right (east) and follow the good path that winds downhill (yellow cross on a tree).
(9) Cross the Aytua river and follow the path that then climbs back up. Go through a wire fence and you will arrive at a crossroads at the foot of Troc de Laric (1150m).
(10) Take the marked track on the left that descends to the north-east.
(11) At 1100m, you will reach the "Tambour de Sahorre" sign. Make a 10-minute round trip to see it: to do so, turn right and, 20m further on, turn right again to climb southwards.
(12) Retrace your steps.
(11) Continue along the track that descends to the right (north-northeast). At 1055m, leave theGR® and continue straight ahead on a wide marked track that winds downhill and takes you to Thorrent Castle, then back to the crossroads you passed at the start.
(1) Turn right and return to the starting point via the same route you took on the way there (S/E).
