(S) Follow theGR®10trail down to the Ruisseau de la Coume d'Agnel.
(1) Follow the stream, then as you climb, the path becomes steeper, winding through a landscape of grassy meadows and mountain pines.
(2) You will reach a small lake on the left, where you will need to negotiate two or three tricky passages over rocks. Climb 300 metres to the Col de Coma d'Anyell. The view opens up to the south over the Étang du Lanoux and Pic Carlit.
(3) Leave theGR®10and head east towards the Étang de Faury, following the red and yellow markings ofthe GRP® Tour de la montagne d'Ax. Keep to the left of the slope and continue along the side until you reach the descent to En Beys.
(4) At the Orlu reserve sign, begin the descent. Then follow the bottom of the valley towards the En Beys lakes. The descent is very steep and very long, as you have to negotiate steps in the rocks, which slows you down considerably. Shortly before the Fauty lake, rejoin theGR®7(red and white markings).
(5) Follow thisGR® to the refuge, keeping to the left bank.
The descent continues over rocks (be careful) and then on slightly more passable paths. You will pass many magnificent lakes throughout the descent. The En Beys lake can already be seen from high above and marks your destination.
(7) The arrival at the end of the lake signals the last stretch. Follow the edge of the lake to the refuge (E).
