Departure: Pessade - from the car park on the right as you arrive.
(S/E) Take the tarmac road on the right towards the hamlet, then left and right to pass in front of the snack bar "Le Petit Baladou".
Pass the fountain and take theGR®®4, which is tarmac at the start, towards Puy de Baladou
(1) After 1 km, do not turn left onto the path you will take on the way back, but continue straight on the GR®®.
(2) Pass Puy de la Védrine and continue to Puy de Baladou, located 4.5 km from Pessade.
(3) The round trip to the summit is easy, but there is no real path and you will need to climb over a fence. The best time to do this is from November to the end of April, when the herds are not out and the fence wires are lowered. At the summit, there is a magnificent view of the Sancy mountains and the Chaîne des Dômes.
(3) Continue along theGR®® for another 500 m until you reach the last copse on the right.
(4) Leave theGR®® and turn sharply left onto the good path that descends into the forest. Stay on this path, ignoring the paths that branch off to the right, until you reach the buron (shepherd's hut) called "Le Regardet".
(5) From there, continue straight ahead and, at the crossroads 250 m further on, continue on the same path that veers slightly to the right until you reach the Creux buron, located 400 m further on.
(6) From the Creux buron, do not take the path 90° to the right or the path that branches off to the right 50 m further on, but continue straight ahead on the wide path for 1.3 km.
You will arrive at a clear platform, at the crossroads of several paths and trails.
(7) Take the path that climbs up into the forest (mountain bike signposting) on your left. Further on, continue to the left, ignoring the two paths that branch off to the right, and 100 m further on, continue to the right to leave the forest another 100 m further on.
(8) Then continue on the clearly visible path that joins theGR®®
(1) Return to Pessade (S/E) via the same route as on the way out.
