Park in the large car park on Rue Neuve, behind the town hall.
(S/E) With your back to the car park, take the passageway at the gable end of a crêperie and turn left into Rue Saint-Guénolé.
(1) Leave the church on your right and continue straight ahead. At the fork shortly after, turn right and continue to Port Maria (note the number of palm trees in the gardens, a sign of an environment protected from westerly winds and a mild climate due to the presence of the sea).
(2) Retrace your steps back to the church. Go down three steps to reach the marine cemetery and walk around the church in a clockwise direction. Note the view of Pointe de Tibidy (marked on the map) and the mouth of the Rivière du Faou. The church is usually open and well worth a visit.
(1) Return to Rue Saint-Guénolé and follow it to the left until you reach Place de la Mairie. Note the large granite statue of Anne of Brittany on the left and the Musée Breizh Odyssée.
(3) Turn left onto Rue Bérénez. Continue to the rustic municipal campsite and cross it.
(4) Go straight ahead and follow the Sillon du Pal (a string of pebbles left over from the Quaternary period). Go to the end and discover another view of the village of Landévenec. Retrace your steps back to the campsite.
(3) Continue left (sign) and you will soon reach an intersection (playground). Follow Chemin de Penforn straight ahead, keeping the wall of the former Saint-Guénolé Abbey on your right. The road soon gives way to a path. Go straight ahead, along the edge of the Aulne maritime, until you reach the end of the path in Penforn.
(4) Turn back to the intersection near a playground.
(3) Turn left and go up Rue du Pal. At the top, turn left to go down to the ruins of the 10th-century Romanesque abbey church (free visit of the ruins and the herb garden; paid visit of the museum possible).
(5) Retrace your steps and go up Rue de l'Abbaye. Cross Rue du Pal on the right and continue straight ahead to Place de la Mairie.
(3) Turn left onto Rue Neuve to find the car park on your right (S/E).
