Park in the Port des Monards car park (free parking).
(S/E) From the car park, head north-west and go to the first fork.
(1) Turn right onto Rue du Port, join the D145 and turn left at the fork.
(2) Turn right onto the D114 towards Barzan and continue to the church.
(3) At the crossroads opposite the church, turn left onto the road and continue until the 90° left turn.
(4) Leave the road and turn right. At the crossroads opposite the Garde, turn left then right to reach the Moulin du Fa and the Gallo-Roman site of the Côte de Saintonge.
(5) Retrace your steps, turn right at the fork and rejoin the small road you left earlier. Turn right and continue straight ahead until you reach the junction with the D145.
(6) Cross the road (take care) and follow the Avenue de l'Estuaire opposite, which leads to the port of Talmont-sur-Gironde.
(7) Go around the port to reach the entrance to the village, a must-see tourist attraction.
(8) After your stop, leave Talmont-sur-Gironde by the same route, going around the port.
(7) Turn right towards the cliffs. Join the D145 but, just before it, turn right onto the road that runs alongside it and leads to Barzan-Plage.
(9) At the edge of the cliff, turn left up into the housing estate until you reach the junction with Avenue des Anglais. Turn right onto this avenue, which becomes Route du Pilou further on, and pass the entrance to the Roche Batard buildings on your right.
(10) About a hundred metres further on, leave the road and turn right to follow the vineyards and join the cliff path with its fishing huts. There is a picnic table on the cliff side where you can admire the view (or enjoy any oysters you have brought with you). The path turns right away from the cliff and rejoins the road you left earlier.
(11) Turn right and return to the crossroads you passed at the start of the walk.
(1) Return to Port des Monards and the car park (S/E) by following the same route you took on the way there.
