Park in the car park of the school at 7 Rue des 9 et 10 Juin 1940 in Venables.
(S/E) When you leave the car park, turn right onto this street and continue to the traffic lights. Keep right for about 30 metres.
(1) Take the first path on the right, markedGR®, then turn left and follow the winding path for 800 metres along the edge of the woods. Descend to the railway line, following the red and whiteGR® markings on the trees.
Walk along the railway line on your right, then turn right under the bridge to reach Route de Lormais.
(2) Turn left onto Route de Lormais and continue to the Seine. Turn right onto the path that runs along the river on your left. Continue straight ahead to the metal footbridge near the Venables marina.
Climb onto this footbridge, admire the surroundings and cross this branch of the Seine. At the end of the footbridge, go down the steps and turn left to reach the riverbank.
(3) At the riverbank, take the wooded path on the right. The Seine is still on your left and the harbour on your right. At the Y-shaped paths about 800 m away, take the left one to continue along the banks of the Seine. Continue to the houses on your right.
(4) Turn right onto Sente de Seine at the signpost marked "Autour du lac de Venables" (Around Venables Lake) with blue markings. At the end of the path, turn right onto the street to reach the lake opposite.
Go through the gate and then the turnstile to walk along the left-hand side of the lake, which is on your right, on the lawns. Continue along this path, parallel to a road, until you reach the next gate on your left.
(5) Go through this gate and continue along this road to the right towards the bend. Ignore the blue marked path that branches off to the right. Continue to the junction with Rue du Pré Aubry.
(6) Turn right, take the first street on the left, then the next street on the right, Rue de la Gare. Continue along this street until you reach the railway line and cross the bridge over it.
(7) Turn right onto the road at the "except buses" road sign and go up this road to the calvary. Take the street on the left, cross the D135 and follow the path opposite into the plain.
At the edge of the woods, continue straight ahead on the path bordering a field on your left. It leads to the D65, which you should follow to the right until you reach the top of the bend.
(8) Take the grassy path on the right, then turn onto the first path on the right in the plain at the blue signpost. Continue across the plain, turn right at a right angle to reach the edge of the Bois de la Fayel.
Ignore the paths on the left that lead to Montier.
(9) Continue downhill through the woods towards the blue andGR®® markings painted on a tree a little further to the right, then climb up the edge of the plain to the small copse. Go around it on the left and ignore theGR®® which branches off to the left.
Follow the path across the plains towards Venables. It leads to the D135.
(10) Cross the D135 and climb Rue Georges Warin opposite until you reach the crossroads.
(11) Turn left onto Rue des 9 et 10 Juin 1940, admire the superb church on your right (which you can walk around) and head for the car park (S/E).
