Château-l'Abbaye town hall car park, near the church.
(S/E) With the town hall on your right, go to the end of the car park and take the path on the left to reach Rue de la Fontaine. Turn right, come out onto Grand Rue and follow it to the left until you reach the sports field.
(1) At the crossroads, turn right onto Chemin du Pont Péri to reach the Canal de l'Escaut.
(2) Turn left and follow the canal to the Mortagne-du-Nord bridge.
(3) Take the stairs to cross Rue du Fort and go back down the stairs to return to the canal. Continue to the river port (where there is a green space ideal for a break or picnic).
(4) Join Rue du Fort, turn right, then immediately left before the bridge and follow the canalised Scarpe. Pass the fire and rescue centre, then the secondary school.
(5) Cross the Pont de l'Imbécile bridge and continue along the Scarpe. Leave the lock on your right and you will come out onto Rue de la Motte du Moulin (D68).
(6) Turn left (mandatory sign), leave Rue du Petit Marais on your right and join Grand Rue.
(7) Turn left, then turn right before the end of town sign to take the dirt track that makes a wide circular loop to the right and ends at Rue de Flines. Return to Grand Rue (bus shelter).
(8) Turn left, then take the path on the right after house no. 19 (Chemin de la Haute Voie).
(9) Turn left and head towards the church. Turn right to return to the car park (S/E).
