Pont d'Espagne - Bayssellance Refuge

Park in the large car park at Pont d'Espagne after Cauterets.

(S) Head towards Pont d'Espagne and the hotel, then take the path on the left that follows the GR®10: white and red markings.

(1) Pass near Lac des Huats and continue to Lac de Gaube. Turn right before reaching the hotel and cross the footbridge over the Gave de Gaube.

(2) Turn immediately left, staying on the GR®10, and walk along the western shore of the lake. You will reach the Cabane du Pinet.

(3) Continue on the GR®10, which climbs up the Gave des Oulettes de Gaube on the right bank, passes by the Cascade Esplumouse waterfall and reaches a footbridge over the river.

(4) Cross it to reach the left bank, pass the Darré Esplumouse waterfall and arrive at the Refuge des Oulettes de Gaube.

(5) Continue climbing up several hairpin bends to reach the two small Arraillé lakes.

(6) At the intersection just before the first lake, turn right towards it and continue to the Hourquette d'Ossoue.

(7) Descend to the Bayssellance Refuge, your destination for the day (S/E).
