Description of the walk

The starting point is the car park at the Morette military cemetery on the edge of the D909.

(S/E) With your back to the car park, take the Route des Vid'Zeu. At the end, turn right onto theGR®96and continue straight ahead for about 500 metres.

(1) At the end, turn right heading west. The climb is quite steep at first but eases off a little further on, gradually ascending towards the Cruet chalets.

(2) Then continue to the Lindion Refuge (1,123 m).

(3) Continue straight ahead in a south-westerly direction.
The climb then continues in the same direction, passing a waterfall, undergrowth and meadows to reach Crêt de Tervelles.

(4) At Crêt de Tervelles, continue straight ahead towards Pointe de Talamarche.

(5) Once you reach the summit, we recommend walking a few hundred metres along the ridge to enjoy superb views of all the surrounding mountains and Lake Annecy.
Return via the same route to the car park (S/E).

A very pleasant round trip hike, no difficulty except for a steady climb to the summit. Saw some chamois, walked through forests and mountain pastures. Delighted with the views at the top!

Please note that there are two car parks when coming from Annecy. Park in the second (main) car park.

The first climb is very steep and uninteresting: a forest track and 4x4 route.
Upon arrival at the Lindion refuge, the landscape changes and transforms into a pretty green and flowery valley, filled with grasshoppers. The slope also becomes much gentler, and the hike is pleasant. The valley rises to a pass, which takes two hours to climb to the top.
Unfortunately, the view of Mont Blanc and the Aravis is hidden by clouds.
On the descent, I hear several gunshots, but hunting season has not yet opened on this 2 September 2018!
The descent is less tedious than I thought it would be.

A truly beautiful hike, with a steady climb for two hours, but one that allows you to reach the Larrieux refuge fairly quickly. The climb to the peak is not difficult in dry weather, but can be slippery on the rocks. At the top, the view is magnificent, with Mont Blanc within sight and Lake Annecy at the end of the ridge, which is sublime.
But the descent is very long!!!!

A superb hike in a still unspoilt environment. We opted for a different route, but thank you for suggesting this hike.

A superb hike, not easy because the climb is steep and long, but the encounter with the chamois, the whistling of the marmots, the buttercups and rhododendrons – everything is magnificent, not to mention the view from the summit. Two days later, you can still feel the descent in your legs.

We were warned: it's steep! And we hit the ground running right from the start!
We were pleasantly surprised to be the only ones on this hike!
It's a bit monotonous to climb (and especially descend) in a straight line, but the view from the top is worth the difficult climb.
I couldn't help thinking, "And we'll have to come back down again!"
Indeed, the descent was harder on the muscles than the climb, and I really felt it in my thighs and calves afterwards.
We found meadows still full of flowers and were able to admire ONE ibex, but where were the others hiding?
