From Lhers, follow the small road south-west to the barrier and a small car park protected from livestock, where you can leave your cars. If you have several vehicles, take one car down to the finish point to avoid a 2.5 km walk along the road at the end of the walk to retrieve your cars.
(S/E) Take the pastoral track, which is first cemented and then stony, to the Cabane de Pourcibo. 100 m further on, a small sign on the left indicates a shortcut.
(1) Cut across the bend in the track through the pasture. Join the track again where asecond sign indicates another shortcut. The trail continues without a real path, climbing steadily in the same direction (south-southeast) through the pastures to an elevation of 1607 metres, where it intersects with a beautiful path coming from the Col de Saoubathou.
(2) Take the other well-marked path to the left (northeast) and climb. When you reach the escarpments, the path straightens out, turning left towards the north. Once you have crossed the rocky ridge, the path continues to climb zigzagging towards the east, passing close to the Cabane de Souperret hut to the pass of the same name. Magnificent view towards Ossau.
(3) The Pic de Labigouer rises nearby. Straight ahead, the slope is steep.
From the Col de Souperret, head north, avoiding this steep slope. Once you have passed the steep slope, at an altitude of 2,024 metres, turn right (east) into the large rocks where the slope is still steep. You will finally reach the Pic de Labigouer (altitude 2,175 metres), the summit of the hike. The view stretches out in all directions.
(4) Descend north-northeast, with a few climbs, to the Col de Labigouer.
(5) After this pass, climb a little then cut right onto vague paths, descending slightly to Col des Pises.
(6) Continue north-northeast along the grassy ridge, climbing briefly. The northwest slope is steep, but the view is magnificent. Reach a ridge junction at an elevation of 1913 metres.
(7) Opposite (north), below in the forest, is the Col de Barrancq, which you will need to cross, but the slopes are steep. It is better to avoid this and take a short detour.
Descend to the right (east) towards the Col de la Nabe at an altitude of 1860 metres, from where paths lead off to the north-west.
(8) Follow them down the slope towards the ridge. Then enter the dense forest off the well-marked trail (heading generally north), following the top of the shoulder until you reach Col de Barrancq at an elevation of 1601 metres.
(9) From this pass, carefully follow the red and white markings ofthe GR® 10 trail to the north-west. The trail zigzags through the forest, crossing the forest track and logging roads numerous times. Pay close attention to the markings indicating the correct trail. The descent is quite long, with occasional views of the hay meadows of Lhers.
Leave the forest, cross a fern grove and finally arrive at the road at a place called Moulia Jean-Baptiste.
(10) Follow the road on foot to the left for 2.5 km and you will reach the car park (S/E).
