Around the Étang du Doul
This easy, short hike is a loop around the Étang du Doul. It starts in the picturesque village of Peyriac-de-Mer, located between Narbonne and Sigean. Wine growing, fishing and tourism are the main activities here. During the walk, you will pass the Étangs de la Saline, Étangs du Doul, Étangs de Bages and Étangs de Sigean. From the heights, you can admire a splendid view of Bages and La Nautique.
Tour of the lagoons of Peyriac-de-Mer
Wonderful landscapes with wildlife, flamingos, cranes, egrets, etc. It's a paradise.
Peyriac-de-Mer Pond and Sigean African Reserve
This is not a free tour of the Sigean reserve, but the overlook and views of the Peyriac pond are well worth the detour.
From Bages to Les Pesquis
A short, easy loop west of the small village of Bages in the Aude department. This walk through wild olive trees, maritime pines and heathland offers splendid views of the lake and surrounding villages. You will discover varied landscapes with shaded areas, wide paths and very narrow trails.
Fontfroide Massif
A loop from the magnificent Abbaye de Fontfroide in the massif of the same name. There are 360° views of the Corbières, the Pyrenees and the Aude coastline.
With no major difficulties, the route only takes in the DFCI paths of this highly protected massif.
From the Mandirac Lock to Sainte-Lucie Island
When staying in Gruissan, Sainte-Lucie Island is a must-see place for a walk, with the added bonus of swimming at the Vieille Nouvelle beach.
The Combe d'Enfer in the Massif de Fontfroide
You'll discover part of the Massif de Fontfroide between the Domaine de Jonquières and the Abbaye de Fontfroide (visit possible), thanks to the many DFCI trails closed to motor vehicle traffic. The demanding section of the Combe d'Enfer should be walked with care, or even avoided after rain. An alternative route, described in the practical information section, allows you to bypass this tricky section.
La Grande Capoulade
The Grande Capoulade trail allows you to discover La Clape from the Gruissan side, offering a double view of the Bages and Gruissan lagoons.
This hike follows the marked route on site, which is different from the one shown on the IGN map.
L'Ile Saint Martin and the Goules Trail

Sainte-Lucie Island is a regional nature reserve, and dogs are not allowed.

Discovering the Massif de la Clape
Just a few minutes from the beaches of Gruissan, the Massif de la Clape is an unspoilt haven of peace. This discovery trail winds its way through the vineyards of its renowned terroir, winding its way between rugged limestone cliffs and narrow canyons, where kermes oaks and Aleppo pines share the landscape. Finally, the Vigie and the Chapelle des Auzils offer hikers two exceptional views of the coastline... and far beyond.
Strolling around Narbonne
A discovery walk in the historic centre of Narbonne, with a stroll along the Canal de la Robine (a branch of the Canal du Midi), followed by a wander through the streets to discover the city's iconic monuments, such as the Archbishop's Palace, Saint-Juste and Saint-Pasteur Cathedral, the Pont des Marchands, the Maison des Trois Nourrices, not to mention the superb market halls.
Vierge de Cruque via the belvedere and Combe Mâle
The route consists of two small circular loops:
1 - Discover the town of Narbonne by climbing up to the orientation table via a pretty path. You will descend via the spectacular little road, the "Chemin de la Couleuvre".
2 - At the start of the Combe Mâle, at the foot of the wild climbing cliffs (50 routes according to the FFME). After a steep climb through the vegetation, you will descend gently towards the magical Vierge de Cruque.
You can climb up to discover the cave located under the statue.
Loop around Villesèque-des-Corbières
A short loop east of the typical little village of Villesèque-des-Corbières. After crossing vineyards, the first challenge is the climb up to the plateau where, in the middle of the heath and a field of wind turbines, you will reach the Col de Gléon. On the way down, we will pass close to the Janfestre spring before tackling the second difficulty, a steep but short ramp, to reach the starting point via the Chemin de la Cabayride.
