Description of the walk

Park on Place du Foirail in Puylaurens.

(S/E) Head towards Avenue de Toulouse, turn left to reach the pedestrian crossing and cross. Walk past the town hall to go round the small tree-lined square, then turn right and take Rue Cap de Castel. Continue to Château le Castèl (hence the street’s name), built in 1258. At the top of the bridge, enjoy a panoramic view of the eastern Puylaurentais region and the Montagne Noire. At the bottom of the bridge, continue straight ahead, veering slightly to the left, and follow the sign for the circular Boucle de Labarthe to the Sol district. Continue along the grassy path to the D926 Castres-Toulouse road.

(1) Cross it carefully, following the yellow markings as you descend the tarmac path. Turn right onto a grassy path and head down to the tarmac road.

(2) Turn right onto it and follow it to the next junction. Turn right again to reach the hamlet of En Bonhoure.

(3) At the entrance to the hamlet, turn left, cross the "patus" and head uphill towards Lasserre. At the ruins, take the sunken path on the right and climb up to the old Revel road

(4) Turn right and head back up towards the village. Beautiful view of the village of Puylaurens. Join the D84.

(5) Continue to the right, cross the roundabout at the pedestrian crossing and head straight ahead. About forty metres further on, turn right onto Avenue des Sports and carry on straight ahead to the car park on the village square (S/E).

A few gusts of wind but no rain; the overcast sky meant we couldn’t fully enjoy the view, but it was a lovely walk overall! Thanks to everyone who looks after the maintenance and signposting.

A lovely walk, enjoyed in glorious weather. Stunning views of Puylaurens, the Montagne Noire and the hills of the Lauragais. The walk wasn’t difficult at all and was very pleasant.

.
We had set out to do this circular route but decided to continue on the longer 11-kilometre route.
A truly beautiful hike, both for its many magnificent views and for the varied terrain and trails. A must-do
