Park in the car park at the junction of Avenue de Toulouse and Avenue de Saint-Paul. There are numerous signs along the way, but be sure to follow the route and directions carefully, as this circuit combines the Appelle circular and the Girou route. Yellow markings will guide you along the way.
(S/E) Go under the bridge over the car park, heading north, then turn left, following the signs for "Circular d'Appelle" and "Circular du Girou". Cross Avenue de Saint-Paul, then walk for a few minutes along Rue des Moulins through a residential area.
(1) Continue along the road, following the signs for "Circular du Girou" - "Promenade Moulins". Turn left, then ignore the road on the left that leads back to the main road and continue straight ahead until you reach a small dirt track.
(2) Turn left, following the yellow markings, to immediately join the D12 road. Follow it to your right for a very short distance (100 m) before turning left again onto a smaller road, continuing to follow the yellow markings (towards Lissertel). Pass the access road to the hamlet and continue to an intersection.
(3) Turn left, following the signs for "Circular du Girou" - "Lissertel" - "Terre d'avoine". The small road descends towards the Ancien Moulin de Bartole and offers you a first view of the village of Appelle. The yellow markings will guide you.
(4) Leave the small road and take the first path downhill on your right. Continue on the tarmac road and turn left.
(5) Turn right towards Ginestous, pass the hamlet and continue straight on this road to the village of Appelle. At the crossroads, turn right to go around the cemetery.
(6) Immediately afterwards, turn right again onto a small path that climbs up the hillside through the trees. Follow the yellow markings, pass the Lacoste buildings and continue straight ahead to go around the Château d'Appelle.
(7) Further on, the path branches off to the left through the woods and quickly joins a pretty ridge road.
(8) Once on the road (there is little traffic, but take care nonetheless), turn right and walk less than 300 metres.
(9) At the second intersection, turn left towards Château de la Linge. After the second building, the path bends to the right and then descends.
(10) Take care when you reach the D12. Turn right and walk about 400 metres along the road.
(11) Cross the road and turn left. A white sign indicates: "Suriman en Banquet". Turn right at the fork immediately ahead. At the second fork, keep to the right again on the track, which becomes a path and descends gently through the fields.
(12) Shortly afterwards, turn 90° to the right, following the yellow markings, and continue downhill. Below and to your left, you will see a majestic avenue of plane trees. Continue along the path until you reach a pond, which you will go around on the left. Please note that the path can be very muddy in places. Then continue along the access road to the Constantine property.
(13) About 150 m further on, turn right onto a small path that goes uphill, still marked in yellow. Follow the trail carefully and go uphill until you reach the junction of the circular. When it starts to climb steeply, you know you're almost there!
(1) Turn left to return to the car park and the starting point (S/E).
