Park on Place du Foirail in Puylaurens.
(S/E) Head towards Avenue de Toulouse, turn left to reach the pedestrian crossing and cross. Walk past the Tourist Office and the Town Hall to go around the small tree-lined square, then turn right and take Rue Cap de Castel. Continue to Château lo Castel, built in 1258, from which the street takes its name. At the top of the bridge, enjoy a panoramic view of the eastern Puylaurentais and the Montagne Noire.
(1) At the bottom of the bridge, continue straight ahead for a few metres, then turn slightly left and follow the sign for "Circular Route of Montaut" to the Sol district. Continue along the grassy path to the D926 road.
(2) Walk along the left-hand side of the tarmac road, making sure you stay behind the safety barrier. After about 250 metres, take the tarmac road on the left towards Verdurette. Continue until you reach the junction with the D84.
(3) Turn right towards Boucle de Montaut.
(4) Turn left towards La Bourdette. Continue straight on this road for about 1.2 km.
(5) Before reaching the En Tour buildings, take the stairs on the right and cross the embankment. Continue for 500 m along the grassy path that runs alongside the hedge. Climb the new steps and follow the path that winds between the trees. Walk along the fence alongside a meadow for about 100 m. Go right at the first chicane and 50 metres further on, turn left at the fence. Follow the path through an oak forest, descend to the right into the valley and climb back up on the opposite side.
(6) Beautiful view of Puylaurens, the Montagne Noire and the Lauragais plain. Be sure to stay on the marked path and do not go towards the reservoirs on the left (private property). Continue downhill, keeping to the right until you reach the first house. Turn left and continue to the D51.
(7) Turn right and continue downhill for 200 metres. At the crossroads, turn right again towards the D84.
(4) Continue straight ahead.
(3) Continue straight ahead on the tarmac road until you reach the D92, cross it and continue to the stream.
(8) Take the grassy path on the left, follow the stream and climb the hill to go around the lake. After the footbridge, cross the Cante Rossignol woods, walk along the meadow and fields, then follow the sunken path to reach the Route de Vielmur.
(9) Cross the departmental road with caution, climb back up towards Puylaurens by taking the stony path opposite, then the very steep grassy path on your right. Under the ramparts, turn left.
(10) Turn right towards the church, then left into Rue du Marché. Go around the tree-lined square on the right, passing in front of the Town Hall and the Tourist Office. Once on Avenue de Toulouse, turn right onto the pedestrian crossing, then left to reach Place du Foirail (S/E).
