Description of the walk

Departure from the Culées car park.

(S/E) From the trailhead sign, take the forest track that branches off to the left towards Col de la Balme. After Ruisseau de l'Avanchéreau, continue climbing opposite.

(1) At the bend in the track, take the path opposite, pass the pumping station and arrive at Avanchéreau.

(2) Continue along the path on the right towards Col de la Balme, crossing the small wooden bridge, which is very handy for avoiding wet patches.

(3) At Col de la Balme, turn right, heading north, following the direction of Col de Seytrouset. Pass a fork on the right. The path starts by climbing before levelling out.

(4) At Col de Seytrouset, continue straight ahead to descend to the Seytrouset mountain pasture. The mountain pasture chalets can be seen below.

(5) At Seytrouset, continue downhill to the right towards La Chette. The trail becomes a carriage road.

(6) At La Chette, follow the signs for Les Culées. Cross the path on the right, then turn left downhill through the woods to reach Les Mouillettes.

(7) Descend to the right, heading south, through the undergrowth towards Les Culées d'en Haut/Hautes Culées.

(8) At Culées d'en Haut, turn right onto the path that leads back to Culées. Continue on the left, pass a fountain and return to the car park (S/E).
