The Haut-Thex mountain pasture loop starting from Le Biot

Departure from the car park at the town hall in Le Biot, near the church.

(S/E) With your back to the town hall, head straight towards the church and turn left onto Chemin des Poiriers. At the end, follow the Route du Chef-Lieu (D32) to the right. Continue straight ahead and, at the end, cross a stream and follow the D332 to the right for a few dozen metres. Take the first left and you will immediately come to a crossroads in the hamlet of Les Cottets.

(1) Turn left onto Chemin du Perry, which climbs towards the Haut-Thex mountain pasture. The tarmac soon gives way to a track. Further on, ignore a track coming from the left and arrive at a junction.

(2) Turn right onto a forest track. Head uphill towards the south. The track eventually comes out at the top of a mountain pasture, near a pond.

(3) Descend to the right and cross the mountain pasture.

(4) You will come to a track; follow it to the right and downhill. At the intersection for access to a pylon, continue straight ahead on a grassy path (yellow arrow on a green background).

(5) Immediately rejoin the track and follow it to the left, continuing downhill and following the bends. At the bottom of the mountain pasture, continue along a forest track, pass the foot of an antenna and head north. Pass a wayside shrine and continue straight ahead to the hamlet of Les Cottets.

(1) Then turn left. Immediately rejoin the D332 and turn right and left to continue on the D32 (Route du Chef-Lieu). Go straight ahead and then turn left onto Chemin des Poiriers. Turn right at the corner of the church and you will quickly reach the town hall car park (S/E).
