This hike starts at Chaumont-en-Vexin station (J train from Saint-Lazare station). You will need to leave a vehicle at the end point, Gisors station, or take the train back to Saint-Lazare station.
This hike is not marked. Please follow the description carefully.
(S) With your back to the station, cross the footbridge and turn right onto Rue de la Laiterie until you reach the three-way junction. Turn left onto Rue de la Pissotte. This road winds upwards.
(1) Keep to the right at the next crossroads and walk along the edge of the woods for about 500 metres.
(2) At the fork, stay on the road to the right and ignore the path that branches off to the left towards La Pierre Droite in the fields. Then leave the road and turn right, staying on the edge of the woods until you reach the crossroads.
(3) Enter the Bois de Gomerfontaine on the right via a road, then, at the fork, take Rue Bertichéres on the left and cross the hamlet of Les Groux. The road becomes a path through the woods. Ignore a path that branches off to the right and continue straight ahead to the left.
(4) Turn right and, just before the railway bridge, take the hairpin bend to the left and arrive at the Dolmen des Trois Pierres.
(5) Follow the railway line for a short distance and pass in front of a water treatment plant.
(6) Turn right onto Chemin des Groux, then go through the tunnel under the D981 and continue straight ahead. You will come to a road that you should follow to the right.
(7) Go through the tunnel under the railway line and continue along Rue de la Gare de Trie-Château.
(8) Turn left onto Rue Nationale. On the right, you will see Château de Trie. Continue for about 300 metres and turn right onto Rue de la Forêt.
(9) At the crossroads, turn left onto Sentier Rural. At the end, turn left onto Route de Villers and rejoin Rue Nationale.
(10) Follow it to the right, go through two roundabouts and continue straight ahead on Avenue des Deux Vexins. Pass the Mazurieux shopping area. Continue straight ahead on Rue Albert Forcinal, go through a roundabout, then turn left after the level crossing.
(11) Take a path on the left and continue to La Troesne.
(12) Turn right, cross three bridges over the river, then take a path and you will arrive at Rue Paul Elliard.
(13) Turn right, cross a bridge and arrive at Rue de la Troesne.
(14) Turn left onto this street, continue along Rue du Bouloir on the right and cross Rue François Cadennes. 200 metres further on, enter Frédéric Passy Environmental Park on the right.
(15) Walk halfway around the park on the left, cross a small bridge, then continue around the right and arrive at Rue de Saint-Ouen.
(16) Turn left onto this street, then turn right onto Rue de l'Hospice and continue onto Rue des Annonciades.
(17) Turn left, pass in front of the town hall of Gisors, then turn right onto Rue de Paris, cross the Epte and turn left onto Rue du Colonel O'Diette. Continue to the next crossroads.
(18) Turn right onto Rue de Preslay, then, at Place de Blanmont, take the stairs on the right to enter the castle gardens.
(19) Cross it, then take a small bridge to Rue Jean Jaurès opposite.
(20) At the roundabout, turn left onto Rue Walter Bruder, then right onto Avenue de Verdun. Turn left onto Rue de Dieppe and then right onto Avenue de la Gare, which leads to Gisors station (E).
