Park in front of the town hall.
(S/E) With your back to the town hall, set off to the right. Pass in front of the school and descend to a crossroads 200 m away.
Turn left towards the hamlet of Les Tardieux, cross it and continue straight ahead into the woods.
(1) On the left, make a return trip to see a very large old well built there for irrigation. Then continue to the edge of the woods and turn right onto the small tarmac road.
(2) At this point on the left, you can admire a pretty stone well. Continue straight ahead, climb the hill to pass between the houses of the hamlet of Les Pougens and arrive at a grassy path. Enjoy the view of the Château de Roussillon on the right and continue along the path until you reach a fork.
(3) Turn left and after 250 metres, keep left again. Shortly afterwards, on the left and behind the embankment, you can see the beautiful remains of a gariotte, or cazelle. Carefully take the descent and walk to the path that runs through the Combe de Mercadal.
(4) Turn left and follow the valley for about 1 km. At the end of the path, start climbing the rocky slope on the right. You can take a look at the impressive rocks detached from the hill and possibly sit down there.
(5) When you reach the hamlet of Mercadal, take a look at the beautiful well with its pump on the right. Return to the path and turn left onto the tarmac road that leads to the RD820.
(6) Turn left and stay carefully on the side of the road until you reach Chemin des Vignes, 200 metres away, then turn left onto it. At the end of Chemin des Vignes, turn left and then immediately right after 100 metres to return to the starting point.
Continue straight ahead for 750 metres and after Les Tardieux, keep right at the fork to return to the town hall (S/E).
