Park in the Boulevard Charles-de-Gaulle car park, near the wash house.
(S/E) At the start, go past the crossroads and take Allée des Peupliers. At the first crossroads, take the second dirt track on the right until you reach a junction. Continue straight ahead on the grassy path, which winds around several bends.
(1) At the T-junction with a gravel path, turn left then right and enter Tressat until you reach the road. Turn right.
(2) At the crossroads, follow a wide path to the left. At the crossroads (Croix des Rameaux), climb to the right up to the plateau (thematic sign - east-west view: Monts du Forez, Plaine de Limagne, Massif du Sancy, Chaîne des Puys). Continue straight ahead.
(3) After 70 metres, turn left and continue straight ahead. At the top of the plateau, turn left and, 50 metres further on, turn left again.
(4) Going downhill, take the first path on the right and follow the wall surrounding the Château des Bérangers. At the crossroads, take Rue Saint-Pierre opposite until you reach the cross.
(5) Go up to the right. At the stop sign, take the path on the left and go up. At the stone wall, turn left and follow the grassy path to the Chaptuzat Haut road. Take it on the left and pass in front of the wash house.
(6) After 50 metres, turn right up Chemin du Puits. After the farm, at the last house (cross), turn left and follow a wide path. At the T-junction, continue to the left. Cross the road and continue to Château de la Roche.
(7) Go down the grassy path, ignoring the side paths. At the end of the path, turn right for 30 metres (cross - rest area) then follow the road to the left for 250 metres. Take the first large path on the left.
(8) At the D12, turn right. At the three-way junction, turn left onto the Chaptuzat road, then continue along Allée des Peupliers to return to the starting point (S/E).
Very pleasant, unobstructed view of the Sancy and two beautiful castles on the route
