Description of the walk

From the D2144, follow the access road to Saint-Hilaire-la-Croix, then follow the signs for Parking. This is near the town hall/priory and the church and is used as a car park for hikers.

(S/E) Exit the car park and turn right onto the road. Walk along the pond on your left and continue along the street to cross the village. You will arrive at the beautiful ancient carved cross (1573).

(1) Turn right at the hairpin bend to return to the church via the street at the bottom of the village and continue along the path that extends from it. You will come to a road at a signpost.

(2) Ignore the directions indicated and follow the road to the right to reach the priory (information board). Go around the church on the right to find the beautiful entrance porch, then the gate leading to the priory courtyard.

Retrace your steps and, facing the pond, turn left onto the path called Passage Sainte-Madeleine. You will come to a road; follow it to the right, with the pond on your right. Back on the main street, follow it to the right, in the opposite direction to the way you came, to reach the car park (S/E).
