In the countryside around Oresmaux

A pleasant hike around the lands of Saint-Nicolas.
It allows you to discover the farms of Saint-Nicolas and Ereuse, passing through the Absous and Domont valleys and skirting the woods of Ramées, Berny, Domont and Petit Bois Lefèbvre.

A pleasant hike on a rather windy but mild October afternoon. The route varies between village houses, forest edges and flat fields typical of the region.
A small clarification regarding the route between points 4 and 5 ("le poulard"): you have to go to the woods and enter the woods for 30 metres before turning left. The route indicates a diagonal passage to the left, but at this time of year, it is a cornfield that cannot be crossed.

A pleasant route consisting mainly of paths and trails with very little road.

At point 11, the description is not clear enough; there are no signs indicating the Font de Domont path. It would be a good idea to add: After the descent, turn right, ignore the road on the left, continue straight ahead on the path and go to the first path on the left, just after the small wood (point 12).

Thank you, Giot, for this beautiful trail.

Hello,

It's a shame you didn't follow VIsorando's recommendations.

Important:Under lockdown restrictions, all forms of hiking are currently prohibited in France. More information is available on the government website.

The aim is both to avoid contact between people and to avoid having to call out the emergency services in the event of an accident.
It is EVERYONE'S responsibility to stop the spread of the epidemic.

Thank you for taking this into account.

pleasant walk between countryside and forest edges
few roads to cross or use

One small detail (it's very clear on the map but a little less so in the description): at point 11, take the Domont path for 400 metres before turning left and walking along the small wood; do not turn immediately.

Hello, we took advantage of the good weather in December to do this walk, but in the opposite direction. There was a biting wind, but beautiful winter sunshine. Otherwise, the paths are terribly muddy (but that's normal at this time of year), so make sure you wear good shoes. It's worth noting that there is a car park in the town near the bakery, 100 metres from the starting point. We were there in a motorhome and couldn't park in front of the church. So, it's a lovely walk, but be careful as there are two sections on a main road where vehicles drive very fast. But just be careful. I would add that the countryside is beautiful, but nothing more.

Thank you for this walk.
