Saint-Justin Oratory via Courratge from Barèges

Start from the square in front of the cinema in the centre of Barèges.

(S/E) Head towards the stream and take the footbridge that crosses to the right bank of the Bastan. Then follow the signs to Saint-Justin on the left. Small signs clearly indicate the directions to take.

(1) Be careful not to miss the climb to Courratge on the right. From there, the path climbs in a series of hairpin bends. During the climb, you will cross other paths leading to Montagne Fleurie: stay on the path to Courratge and Saint-Justin. You will reach a track coming from the plateau to the north-east.

(2) Take it on the left towards Saint-Justin in the south-west. Continue to the last bend in the track.

(3) Continue along the path directly opposite and carry on until you reach the junction with the GR®10 coming from Barège.

(4) Continue straight ahead to reach Saint-Justin and climb up to the oratory to enjoy the view to the full.

(5) Retrace your steps back to the fork.

(4) Take the GR®10 trail to the north-east on the right. This crosses two streams and rejoins the first fork on the way out.

(1) Head straight ahead and follow the same route as on the way there to return to the square in front of the cinema in Barèges (S/E).

There are no drinking water points along the route. In Saint-Justin, a crêperie, usually open in summer, offers food and drink. The owner is very welcoming.
