(S) From the football stadium, turn right onto Rue des Nasieux, pass the indoor karting rental building and you will find yourself on Rue de l'Areuse. Continue north-east, cross the level crossing carefully and turn left onto Rue des Tilleuls. Continue to the end of the street to arrive in front of the station.
Signposting: signposts with sticker no. 5 on a green background (Jura Höhenweg).
(1) Turn right, pass in front of the Auberge de Noiraigue, then continue along Rue du Temple until you reach the residence with blue shutters. Turn left onto Rue Perrin, which slopes slightly upwards. Continue along this street until you reach Route n°10. Keep left (south-west) and walk carefully along the side of the road until you reach the signpost.
(2) Cross carefully to take the stony path opposite, which leads to the Bois Pillion. You will begin a steep climb; stay on this path until you reach the signpost at the intersection after the hairpin bend.
(3) Turn left onto the path through the woods that heads north-west, then turn right, heading north-east, until you reach the car park for the Via Ferrata du Tichodrome.
(4) Head right, southeast, and continue your ascent to the ventilation shaft of the La Cluzette Tunnel: viewpoint.
(5) Follow the yellow signs to the left, heading northeast. The climb eventually levels off; continue along the ridge at the edge of Bois Rond until you reach the crossroads.
(6) Continue straight ahead, heading north-east , enjoying the magnificent views of Lake Neuchâtel and, in good weather conditions, the Alps with the Mont Blanc massif. Continue on to Rocher des Tablettes.
(7) At the signpost, follow the direction of Mont Racine - Vue des Alpes. Begin your descent, continuing to the crossroads.
(8) Turn left and continue descending north-east through the woods. When you reach the edge of the woods, at the signpost, take the small path on the right, which will quickly lead you to a magnificent viewpoint.
(9) Retrace your steps to the signpost, then turn right, heading north-west, and follow the signs for La Tourne, crossing a lovely clearing before returning to the woods. Continue until you leave the woods at a place called Les Lapples, near a water cistern.
(10) Continue straight ahead to cross the meadow heading north-northwest, pass an isolated house and continue along its access road to arrive at a large car park opposite the Hôtel-Restaurant de La Tourne: beautiful view of Lake Neuchâtel.
(11) Carefully cross the Route de Montmollin, pass to the left of the hotel and follow the signs for Grande Sagneule - Mont-Racine. After the last house, enter the woods and continue along the slightly uphill path until you reach a fork with a signpost.
(12) Turn right (north-east) onto Chemin de la Tourne. Pass a small farm before arriving at a fork.
(13) Keep right towards Grande Sagneule - Mont-Racine and continue to the junction with the access road to the Dairy Farm of the Grand Coeurie.
(14) Keep right, heading northeast, and continue until you reach the junction with Route de Montmollin.
(15) Turn left onto this road, pass a small farm and stay on this hilly road until you reach Restaurant La Grande Sagneule.
(16) Pass the restaurant and, at the signpost, turn right towards Mont Racine. Continue to the isolated copse.
(17) Continue to the right, north-east, to cross the woods on the hillside called Les Arêtes, then at the edge of the woods, turn left, north-east, and follow the edge along a small stony path. Continue to the signpost at the crossroads.
(18) Continue straight ahead on the ridge of Mont Racine, which is sometimes wooded and sometimes dotted with molehills, bordered by old dry stone walls, to reach Mont Racine, the highest point of the stage, at an altitude of 1,432 metres. This is a beautiful summit with a lovely view of Lake Neuchâtel and, on a clear day, the Alps in the background.
(19) Continue opposite, along the ridge, enjoying the beautiful views, until you reach a low dry stone wall perpendicular to the route. An information sign entitled "Place sur les Pradières" is located at the corner of the wall.
(20) Heading north-east, walk along the low wall on your right and continue until you reach an alpine farm.
(21) Keep going in the same direction, pass through a turnstile and, at the signpost, follow the direction of Tête de Ran. You will come to a junction with a small tarmac road: information sign and signpost.
(22) Cross the road and follow the signs for Tête de Ran opposite. Pass the Loge des Pradières-dessus restaurant and walk along the edge of the woods until you reach the Pouet Carré picnic area below.
(23) Continue north-east, then enter the woods and continue until you reach a crossroads.
(24) Keep going straight ahead, heading north-east, and continue until you reach the intersection in a bend.
(25) Turn left, go over the Tête de Ran hill and continue until you arrive in front of the La Clef des Champs hotel and restaurant.
(26) At the signpost in front of the hotel, follow the direction of Vue des Alpes. Continue to the hamlet of Derrière Tête de Ran.
(27) Continue left, north after the last house. Pass under a high-voltage power line, then head north-east. The path crosses a wooded area before emerging in front of the Vue des Alpes Chapel.
(28) In front of the chapel, continue to the right, heading south-east. Pass in front of the La Vue-des-Alpes relay station before arriving at a large car park.
(29) Cross it, heading north, to arrive in front of the Tourist Office - La Vue des Alpes, where you can get information on finding a place to camp nearby (E).
