Mills and Kiosks in the Solre Fagne

Departure from Place de Cousolre, Town Hall car park
(S/E) With your back to the town hall, head towards the church, following the Route Nationale towards Hestrud.

(1) Go straight on Rue des Juifs, turn left onto Rue Eloi Cougneau and take the first right onto Rue du Terne Clarin.

(2) Continue on the road on the right and, at the next fork, turn right onto Rue Marius Lenglet. Cross the stream and continue to the next crossroads.

(3) Continue straight ahead on Rue Marius Lenglet.

(4) At this intersection, turn right onto Rue de la Gare.

(5) At the fork, continue straight ahead on the D80, Route de Bérelles. Continue on this road, cross the Bois de Forêt and pass the ratière

(6) Continue on the D80, Rue de Cousolre, pass Bout Là-Haut and Le Mazy.

(7) Opposite the church in Bérelles, turn left onto Route de Jeumont and then immediately right onto the D80.

(8) Turn right onto Rue de Solrinnes and follow the road as it turns left.

(9) After the woods, continue on Grande Rue (D80).

(10) In Solrinnes, at the Y-junction, turn right onto Grande Rue towards Dimechaux, pass La Solre and look out for the old Foulerie watermill on your left.

(11) Take the road on the right, Grande Rue then Route de Solrinnes (D80), and follow this road straight ahead.

(12) At Dimechaux, at the stop sign, turn left onto the D27, Route de Solre-Le-Château, towards Lez Fontaine.

(13) At La Libotte, turn right towards Dimont and enter Offies.

(14) At the crossroads, turn right onto Route d'Offies and, at the next fork, turn left onto Champ d'Offies towards Sars-Poteries, continue straight ahead.

(15) Pass the old Sars-Poteries railway station and continue along Rue du Général Leclerc.

(16) At the crossroads, continue straight ahead, then turn right onto Rue Victor Hugo and drive alongside the cemetery.

(17) Pass in front of the Menhir and at Place du Vieux Marché, turn left onto Rue Jean Jaurès (D80).

(18) At the fork, turn right onto Rue Jean Jaurès, then take the^first right onto Rue Pasteur. At the next crossroads, turn left onto Rue Imbert, which then becomes Rue de Sars, until you reach the Route Nationale, where you turn right until the next crossroads.

(19) Turn right onto Chemin du Chauffour. At the T-junction, turn left onto Route de Dourlers.

(20) At the Savate crossroads, take Rue de Dourlers opposite, pass Le Chant des Oiseaux and cross the woods, continuing straight ahead.

(21) At the edge of the woods, turn right and continue straight ahead on Chemin de Beugnies. At Floursies, continue straight ahead on Rue du Calvaire.

(22) At the crossroads, turn right onto Rue de l'Église, then take the right fork. At the next fork, turn right.

(23) Pass in front of the church and fountain in Floursies, then turn right and take^{the first} left onto Route de Wattignies. At the chapel, turn right and, at the fork, take the first right onto Route de Wattignies and cross the woods. Continue on the main road

(24) When you reach the D155, turn right onto Rue Jourdan. Follow the signs for Dimechaux.
Take the first right onto Rue Carnot, then keep left onto Rue du Général de Gaulle. Pass the church and turn left.

(25) Turn right onto Rue du Stordoir, continue straight ahead and admire the Moulin du Stordoir. At the crossroads, continue along the greenway on the right.

(26) Pass the crossroads with Route de Wattignies and continue straight ahead.

(16) Cross Rue du Général Leclerc and continue straight ahead.

(27) Cross the road and continue straight ahead to Rue Haute. Cross the junction with Rue Léon Péron and continue straight ahead. Continue straight ahead, cross Rue du Général de Gaulle and continue straight ahead.

(28) Leave the greenway on the right and follow Route de Maubeuge to Solre-le-Château.

(29) When you reach Avenue du Général De Gaulle, turn left onto Grand Rue. Stay on this main road and head towards Grand Place.

(30) Pass the kiosk and the church and follow the D962, Rue de Beaumont, to the right.

(31) After the Riamé stream, take the second right onto Rue des Plaines towards Beaurieux, pass the cemetery and continue straight ahead.

(32) Turn left towards the centre of Beaurieux, pass two streets on your right, cross the Ruisseau de l'Écrevisse stream and turn right onto Rue Là-Haut.

(33) At the T-junction, turn left, still on Rue Là-Haut, towards Hestrud via the tourist route and follow the woods.

(34) At the four-way junction, turn right onto Rue de Beaumont. Follow this main road to the centre of Hestrud.

(35) Before the museum, turn left onto Rue de Cousolre and pass the kiosk. Follow the Thure river and stay on this main road, which becomes Route d'Hestrud. Pass the Forge d'en haut and continue along the D280, Rue Éloi Cougneau. Return to the route you took at the start and turn right onto Rue des Juifs.

(1) Then follow the Route Nationale straight ahead to return to Place de Cousolre (S/E).

(15) There is a shorter alternative route by taking the greenway on the left to Solre-le-Château.

Connection with "Moulins et Kiosques des deux Helpes": At Floursies church, turn right, pass in front of the war memorial and take Rue du Moulin. At the give way sign, turn opposite and then at the stop sign, head towards Dourlers. Continue straight on the main road and you will reach Dourlers church and the cycle route

Take care along the D80, D962 and D280 roads.

Follow the white and green directional signs depicting a bicycle, sometimes accompanied by the name of the route, "Moulins et kiosques en fagne de Solre" (Mills and Kiosks in the Solre Fagne)
