Montréal (Gers) walks

Thirty-eighth stage of the Camino de Santiago. On the agenda for this short stage: rolling countryside, vineyards, cornfields and forests, ending in the magnificent ancient town of Eauze. Take the time to enjoy this journey through the land of D’Artagnan which, in the heart of the provinces of Guyenne and Gascony, reveals gentle landscapes, symbols of a certain way of life.

Set off on a walk through the vineyards or in the shade of the woods along pleasant paths offering views of Castelnau de Fourcès.

Along the shaded paths, you will overlook the Baïse and Osse valleys before reaching Larressingle. The former residence of the bishops of Condom has retained all the splendour of its medieval fortifications.

A change of scenery guaranteed. This is a pleasant walk that follows the route of the old Éauze-Montréal railway line before reaching the hamlet of Cuherche and the hillside lakes. Thirty-ninth stage of the Camino de Santiago. This stage offers a beautiful journey through the Bas Armagnac region, through a rural landscape featuring half-timbered houses, ancient oak groves, fields of maize and sunflowers, and the vineyards for which this region is renowned, with the Pyrenees mountain range as a backdrop. In wet weather, certain sections of the path through the vineyards can become very muddy and slippery.

Newly re-routed, the Baïse towpath allows you to reach Condom from Valence, following the river for 11 km. This circular route joins the double lock at Graziac via forest paths, returning through the valley.

A hilltop village, Lagardère offers splendid views of the countryside, with its vineyards and multicoloured fields. Its typical Gascon château dominates the surrounding area and is accompanied by a small 12th-century Romanesque chapel.

A pleasant and varied route, starting from Valence-sur-Baïse, which can be enjoyed in all seasons, with the aim of visiting the double lock at Graziac.

This circular route is dotted with historical sites, castles, chapels, abbeys, and the villages of Cassaigne and Mansencôme, and winds through woods and vineyards, alternating between paths and trails. This route starts in Valence-sur-Baïse, a 13th-century fortified town.

An integral part of the Uby Valley nature reserve, the lake of the same name enjoys a remarkable environment in terms of its geography, flora, terrestrial fauna, birdlife and aquatic life. It covers an area of 80 hectares.

Thirty-seventh stage of the Way of St James. On this fairly long stage, you start off walking along undulating, grassy paths to Condom, a small town steeped in history and full of life. Your route then takes you over hill and dale, surrounded by fields of sunflowers and vineyards in the Armagnac region, to Montréal-du-Gers. Please note: in wet weather, some sections can be very muddy and slippery.

Blaziert is a picturesque little village, ideal for a nice picnic break before or after your hike. The route offers varied scenery throughout, dotted with vineyards, sunflower fields in July and beautiful houses in the valleys of Ténarèze.
