Ascent to the pumping station starting from Ouyre

Park in the car park by the pétanque court.

(S/E) Take the road heading south which runs alongside the pétanque court, passing a large restored house on your left, and enter Ouyre-Haute. Follow the Ruisseau de Ladous and arrive at the hamlet of Ouyre-Haute.

(1) Carry on straight ahead through the hamlet until you reach the end. Take the path opposite, which begins to climb; ignore the paths coming from the left and you’ll reach a fork.

(2) Turn right onto a fairly wide path and follow it to a small meadow. The pumping station, an enclosed building, stands on the banks of the Ladous Stream. Retrace your steps to return to Ouyre-Haute.

(1) A small stone bridge spans the stream. Cross this bridge and take the narrow path uphill along the left bank of the stream. This path leads to the centre of the village of Ouyre, at the church square. Go down the steps on the right to join the D902 (Route de Camarès), which runs through the village.

(3) Turn left and walk for about 150 m.

(4) Head down the path on the right called Chemin de la Passerelle: see street sign. Just past the first house on the right, turn right until you reach a garden gate. Continue to the left of this gate along the shaded path which leads to a metal footbridge. Walk across this footbridge to cross the Dourdou.

(5) On the other side of the river, take the path on the right, running alongside the field and the river. This path curves to the left and joins the Route de Magdas. Turn right and follow the tarmac road, which crosses a submersible bridge and leads straight back to the car park (S/E).
