Circular Andabre route via La Colombarié

A short walk in the Rougier de Camarès at the foot of the village of Gissac and its castle. We are in the heart of the famous Rougier de Camarès, which has featured in television reports on several occasions. In fine weather, the scenery is beautiful and the tranquillity here is restful. Don’t be surprised to come across sheep; you are on their territory here.

Description of the walk

From Camarès, take the D10 towards Gissac and Sylvanès via the Col de la Bataille. In Andabre, park behind the lodge by taking the tarmac path on the left.

(S/E) Take the farm track on the right towards Gissac: marked with yellow signs.

(1) Pass to the left of a fortified house, the Mas de Brigou, and continue along the path which slopes to the right.

(2) After about 200 m, leave this path which heads straight ahead and go down to the right. Walk between the stream on the right and the field fence on the left. Follow the fence to your left. The path leads straight to the Colombarié farm, passing two small fords which, unless there has been heavy recent rainfall, are easily crossed. Join the tarmac road leading to the farm situated slightly higher up.

(3) Head down to the right to reach the D10.

(4) Take this road on the right to reach Andabre and the path on the right leading to the car park (S/E).
