Head to the village of Lafare, then take the road on the left towards the Dentelles de Montmirail.
Park at the Saint-Christophe signpost, in the few spaces by the roadside on the left. If there isn’t enough space to park, walk back down about 150 m to park on the ‘mountain’ side in the lay-by.
(S/E) From the Saint-Christophe signpost, with your back to Mont Ventoux, leave the tarmac road heading straight towards Cassan and take the track climbing to the right towards Château Neuf Redortier. Continue along this track, which goes round the small rocky outcrop on which the Saint-Christophe Chapel is perched. Stay on this ascending track for about 1.5 km, ignoring all other paths branching off to the right or left.
(1) At the end of a vineyard, ignore the paths on either side and continue straight on along an ascending track. Very stony at first, the track becomes easier to walk on further on. At a junction, just before the houses, turn right towards the hamlet of Château Neuf Redortier.
Go round the first building on the left and join a tarmac road. Turn left and look for the Château Neuf Redortier signpost 50 m further up, at the junction in a bend.
(2) Take the Chemin des Pradas to the left. At the first fork, stay on the path on the right.
Continue in this direction until you reach a fairly wide junction with a path coming down from the right.
(3) Take a sharp right onto this path and continue south-east. Further on, go round a vineyard plot.
(4) At a right-hand bend, do not head towards Les Clapas but turn left onto a small path that climbs through the woods. Follow it for about 500 m.
(5) At the junction with another path, turn right towards the ridge and arrive at a promontory offering a superb view of the Dentelles de Montmirail. Continue uphill to the wayside cross, to enjoy the view there too.
(6) Head back down the same path, in the opposite direction, to the car park at the Saint-Christophe signpost (S/E).
