Description of the walk

To get to the starting point, you will need to go to the Eloundem chiefdom, which costs 1 to 300 CFA francs by taxi from the Simbock entrance crossroads.

It is possible to shorten the route by starting directly from the "Carrefour Ancien Riche" junction (2). Starting from the Eloundem 1 chiefdom considerably lengthens the route but allows you to visit the town while enjoying the view of the mountain.

The first part of the route (optional), from the Eloundem 1 chiefdom (S) to the Ancien Riche crossroads (2), allows you to visit the town at the foot of the mountain while enjoying a beautiful view of it.

The hike really begins at the point (3).

From the point (4), the vegetation becomes denser and, if conditions allow, the appearance of thick fog will create a most mysterious atmosphere but will obstruct your panoramic view.

At the point (4), you will find the summit of the mountain with an avocado tree and its swing, a large Christian cross and caves.

Notes

Although the trail is generally clear, it is advisable to wear ankle-length trousers due to the wet vegetation.

A walking stick and shoes with good grip are also recommended to prevent slips and falls.

Some sections are very slippery due to wet rocks and mud.

Be sure to check the weather conditions before setting off. In periods of high humidity and in the morning, the panoramic view from the summit may be obstructed by thick fog.
