Mount Ebaminala

Mount Ebaminala or Nkol Edoa, also renamed Mount Béatitudes, is one of the seven hills of Yaoundé. Located between Mount Mbankolo and Mount Messa, it rises to 983 m.

The climb is accessible but still challenging, taking you along well-maintained paths and trails through lush vegetation, plantations and the heights of the mountain.

Ideally located, the mountain offers views of the six other hills of Yaoundé, as well as the districts of Oyom-Abang, Nkolbisson and Mendong.

Description of the walk

Go to the Bethel Mbankolo Febe College School to start the hike.

From the starting point to the intersection at point (1), you will gradually leave the urban area and join a dirt road.

From point (1) to (2), you will cross a dense forest. The road will gradually turn into a path, and you will finish this section by climbing the mountain with the steepest elevation gain of this hike. At point (2): the summit, but no panoramic view to enjoy yet.

For the view, begin the descent and head to point (3).

Continue the descent to point (4), where you will find a large cross of Jesus facing the town.

Continuing your descent from point (4) to point (5), you will also come across two Christian statues and panels depicting the death of Jesus.

You can make a circular route by connecting point (5) to point (1) via the path marked on the map.

At point (E), you will arrive at the Camp Sonel Oyom-Abang crossroads, from where you will have no trouble finding a taxi or motorbike for the return journey.
