Description of the walk

(S/E) From the information board at Michelback dam car park entrance, turn left (South-West) to walk over the damn. The path is straightforward with views of the lake on your right-hand side and the Swiss Alps in front of you on a clear day.

(1) At the end of the damn, you will enter the woods. Turn right (West) into the woods with the lake still on your right-hand side.

(2) At a junction, with an electric pole on your right, turn right (North). The path curves on the left. At the next junction, turn right (North) on the paved path in between two lakes.

(3) At the end of it, turn right (North-East) passing the wooden gate to an information board. Keep the lake on your right-hand side and some houses on your left. When you reach a junction, keep straight ahead into the woods along the path close to the lake side.

(4) At some point, you will see a wooden observatory. After enjoying the view from up there, with the lake in your back, go up the path towards a 'stone' where you turn right (East) to reach the information board at Michelback dam car park. (S/E)

We only did part of the circuit because the stormy weather was very uncertain. Starting at point 2 on the dyke side, we went to the bird observatory at point 4. Returning to point 3, we continued around the western tip of the lake (not described here) which is accessible, wild and pleasant. A very nice walk, and very peaceful given the weather.
