Michelbach Dam car park in Aspach-Michelbach
(S/E) Walk up the road and take the path on the right, following the blue-white-blue Blue Rectangle markings. On leaving the forest onto a small road, turn left and head towards the cemetery.
(1) Turn left (Red Disc), heading north-west, across the fields to Aspach-le-Haut. When you reach the D34, walk a few metres to the right, cross (at the pedestrian crossing) and turn right until you reach the junction with Rue du Rossberg, which curves to the left. Walk on for about fifty metres.
(2) Turn left onto Rue des Sapins (Yellow Ring) and continue through the forest to the ponds.
(3) Take the path between the two ponds to a wide track (Yellow Ring and Red Cross) and follow it to the left until you reach the junction.
(4) Turn left (Red Triangle and Red Cross). Cross the D34.1 road (take care) and continue for about 200 m.
(5) Turn left onto the path (Red Triangle) through the forest until you reach the road, cross the bridge and continue for a further 50 m.
(6) Turn onto the path below the road (Red Triangle). Take care after the bend; walk alongside the busy road for 400 m.
(7) Turn off again onto the path leading down to the left into the forest (Red Triangle). At the multi-way junction, cross with care, continue straight ahead and quickly take the path on the left (Red Triangle). Reach a crossroad, cross it carefully, continue straight ahead (Red-White-Red Rectangle) and rejoin the road.
(8) Cross it carefully, turn left for about 80 m, then right (Blue Ring) and head towards the Doller campsite.
(9) Walk past the campsite, continue along the road and take the path (Blue Ring). At the next junction, turn left, then at the junction with a large cross-road, follow the path to the right until you reach a bench at a junction.
(10) Continue left towards the dam (Green Ring), turn right to cross the embankment, then take the path on the right along the reservoir. You’ll reach the observation tower, where you can climb to the top to see the wildlife.
(11) Then continue straight on to the car park near the dam (S/E).
