Start: The walk starts at the Marienberg Town Hall, where parking is available.
Signposting: Follow the signposts for the EB and E3 long-distance hiking trails, which will guide you along the way.
(S/E) The first section takes you through the old town of Marienberg before you reach the Bergmagazin. The Bergmagazin, a historic building, now houses the Saxon-Bohemian Ore Mountains Museum, where you can learn more about the history of the region.
(1) After this cultural stop, the route continues and you pass the Kaiserteich, an idyllic lake that you can enjoy along the way.
(2) The route then leads through the former peat extraction area of the Mooshaide. This area is known for its moorland landscapes, which offer a special experience of nature.
The next highlight of the hike is the Drei-Brüder-Höhe, where you reach the viewing tower. From here, you can enjoy a magnificent view over the Ore Mountains.
(3) Shortly after the Drei-Brüder-Höhe, the long-distance hiking trails EB and E3 split. Keep left and follow the E3 towards Großrückerswalde. The trail continues to Huth, a small village that is ideal for a break.
(4) The route continues into the centre of Großrückerswalde, past the fortified church (5) and towards Schindelbach.
(6) Initially following the road towards Schindelbach, turn left at the first opportunity onto Marienberger Straße. Continue along the route on the Kirchsteig. This leads you to the Marktsteig, which takes you via the Wüstenschlette and the Goldkindstein back to Marienberg and to the town hall, the destination of your hike. (S/E)
