Park in the car park near Soubès Castle.
(S/E) Go down Chemin des Garennes. Turn right at the restaurant and follow Chemin du Suberbet, which is a small concrete road. Go downhill, cross the bridge and you will reach the crossroads with the road or Chemin des Coutelles.
(1) Cross it and stay on Chemin du Suberbet. Climb up opposite into the housing estate. Note the numerous drystone walls. Continue through the vineyards, broom and oak trees. Take the path on the right that runs alongside a drystone shelter, continue climbing along the drovers' road and reach a junction with theGR®71.
(2) Follow theGR®71for a few metres. Pass a spring, descend, cross the bed of the intermittent stream. Follow it and climb up to an old mine. Turn left, use the steps along the barriers. Cross theGR®71, climb up opposite and reach a fork.
(3) Continue left, climbing in switchbacks through the pine forest. Pass the Dolmen des Coutelles and climb a fairly difficult steep slope to reach a track.
(4) Cross the forest track, then take the path. In front of a ruin, turn left and you will come to a second dolmen. Continue, cross a meadow and you will come to a track at the height of a wash house.
(5) Take the main track on the right and enjoy the south-facing panorama. Continue downhill through the woods before climbing again to a flat area where there used to be a cistern, which has been moved slightly higher up!
(6) Turn right and note the magnificent view of the Cirque du Bout-du-Monde. Go down the paved slanting street (because of the steps, carts had to have iron-rimmed wheels, hence the name Camin Farrat). Reach a crossroads and ignore the path on the left. Shortly after, you will reach the junction with thePR® du Cirque du Bout-du-Monde.
(7) Continue downhill, always following the main path towards Soubès. You will come to vineyards, fenced pastures and the first houses.
(8) Leave the road on the left and rejoin the track that joins a road, Chemin Farrat on the map.
(9) Pass the nursing home and arrive at a fork near a school.
(10) Turn left onto Chemin du Touret, then turn right onto the path to easily reach the car park where you started (S/E).
