Locronan and its bocage

Park in the car park on the left at the entrance to Locronan near the Croix de la Mission.

Yellow markings

(S/E) With your back to the car park, cross Rue du Prieuré and you will come to a grassy area. Cross an embankment (near a bottle bank) to reach Venelle du Prieuré. Continue along this street, which turns at a right angle and continues along a grassy path.

(1) Facing a street, turn right and go up the sunken path at the edge of the woods. On your left, you will see a beautiful manor house. At the top, turn left to reach a road (an old Roman road) which you take to the right for a good ten metres.

Off the marked trail

(2) Turn left onto Sentier des Carrières, which climbs straight up before descending. At an intersection opposite the campsite, turn left and descend to Chemin de Kergénolé, which continues to the right via Venelle des Templiers and leads to the cemetery.

(3) Turn left onto the path that crosses the cemetery, go around the church and climb up to the right towards Place de la Mairie. Turn left to walk alongside the Tourist Office. At the end of the building, turn right onto a grassy path that turns left to cross Rue des Charrettes.

(4) Cross over and turn left into Venelle des Charrettes. When you reach the old Plonévez road, go down it on the right for about 200 metres.

(5) Turn left onto a path that leads to Rue Moal.
Turn right and immediately after, at the calvary, turn left to walk alongside the Bonne-Nouvelle Chapel, its fountain and wash house.

(6) Follow the path downhill to join the D63. Cross carefully and continue along the sunken path opposite, which turns left then right, and continue to the next intersection.

(7) Turn left and continue until you reach a small road, which you will follow to the right for about 100 metres.

(8) Turn left (signposted "lodge ruraux"), cross the farmyard and continue along this path. Pass the two farm entrances on your left and, further on, the Kerbléon farm on your right. Cross a small road and continue past the Kermenguy farm to join the D7.

(9) Cross carefully, follow the small road opposite, leave Le Mez on your left and continue towards Kergoat Névet.
At the T-junction, continue for about 100 metres along a dirt track.

No markings

(10) Leave the^GR®® and turn left at the edge of the woods to follow the bridle path that leads to the forest house. Continue along the road, ignoring all the paths that branch off. At the three-way junction, turn right and continue to the D63.

(11) Cross carefully and take the Gorréquer road opposite, which leads into Locronan.
Turn left at the first road and then right at the stop sign onto a path in a small wooded area. Follow this path, which leads back to the car park, passing a cross on the right (S/E).

Since 2025, parking in Locronan has been subject to a charge: €5 all year round.

In summer, this car park is subject to a charge: the badge purchased is valid for the entire season. It is still possible to park in the car park near the large roundabout on the D63 and walk to the starting point (approximately 200 m).

Bois du Névet
Formerly a Druid sanctuary, the Bois du Névet is now owned by the General Council, acquired as a sensitive natural area.
Two marked loops dotted with benches are accessible to people with reduced mobility. They allow visitors to explore the woods in comfort, thanks to a path winding through oak copses and blueberry bushes.
A wooden footbridge leads you into a damp forest area where royal fern, a rare fern in forest environments, grows.
