The Orchards of Tallende

(S/E) From the Tallende stadium car park on the RD96, take the wide, carriageable path to the right of the skate park, heading south-east.

(1) At the first junction, turn left, then about 100 m further on, turn right before the Veyre. Follow the river until you reach a road.

(2) At the next junction, turn right to cross the bridge over the Monne, and at the next junction turn right again onto a track.

(3) Do not miss the path that branches off to the left through the copse; despite the Yellow Cross, carry on and take the wooden log steps to reach the car park of the dog training park.

(4) Leave the RD96, which climbs up from Tallende, on your right. Take the RD74 opposite, heading south for about 50 m, then take the path climbing up to the right

(5) At the four-way crossroads, take the left-hand path which runs along the hillside and joins the D74 (view of the Puy de Corent).

(6) First turn left then right for 20 m to join the gently sloping path and, after 500 m, at the end, turn right until you reach a road (view of Polagnat).

(7) Turn right again towards the houses of Polagnat and cross the RD74 again to head straight up the road opposite (in the distance, the Crest on the Montagne de la Serre).

(8) Turn right to stay on the hillside and continue straight ahead. Join the D96, cross the bridge over the Monne and arrive at the car park of the Tallende stadium (S/E).

Apart from the few steps to climb between (3) and (4), there are no difficulties.

Please note there is no shade.
